Today, Latch announced that Daniel Teweles has joined the leadership team as Vice President of Strategy, Policy, and Communications. Teweles will be a key player in Latch’s continuing evolution from originally having created the smart access category to now delivering the first smart building operating system combining hardware, software, and services.
“Daniel has guided some of our time’s most forward-thinking leaders and their original ideas to global adoption, and we’re pleased that Latch is next,” said Latch CEO and Co-Founder Luke Schoenfelder. “Daniel’s experience navigating complex global issues at the intersection of public and corporate affairs will help guide us through this next phase of accelerated growth.”
Prior to joining Latch, Teweles served as Chief of Staff to Paul Romer, Nobel Laureate and former Chief Economist of the World Bank, where he was responsible for orchestrating tangible policy outcomes on issues including the United States’ response to COVID-19 and the proactive regulation of big tech, in addition to advising the most senior of private and public sector leaders in Silicon Valley, Brussels, Washington, Beijing, and beyond.
Previously, Teweles founded and led Global Natives, a strategic communications and digital innovation agency headquartered in London. He has also served as Adjunct Professor at Parsons’ School of Design Strategies in New York, President of a venture-backed, global technology accelerator in Silicon Valley, and restructured one of the world’s largest student activist movements in Washington, DC.
Throughout his career, Teweles has been a leader at the intersection of digital technology and innovation. His career highlights include authoring the digital strategies of Harry Potter and J.K. Rowling, coordinating the White House's first-ever webcast, and developing the content strategy for YouTube's first government channel.
